My current print work starts by using black ink painted on rice paper (Sumi-e), then cut and adhered to white paper. Or I hand carve figures or symbols on linoleum, roll with etching ink and press to paper. Texture and layering are added by applying thinned ink to a plate, then using a Baren to deposit the ink to paper. Other forms of texture are added by using brushes or recycled objects. I am inspired by the nature that surrounds me; it is an ever changing color palette; be it on the water or land. I am influenced by my Latin culture, my work is often symbolic, using a whimsical style and vibrant colors. I also have a series of prints featuring the endangered species of Mexico.
