Working in wood since 1975, I continue to explore the potential of process and material through organic abstract sculpture. Grounded in the natural world, the work evokes landscape, object and coastal influence through my surface treatments and sense of organic form. This approach is inspired by living on Lopez with my wife Jean.
In 2009, Evolution/Revolution, a traveling solo exhibition curated by Bellevue Arts Museum, represented 20+ years of my work. My work is found in numerous private and museum collections throughout the U.S. and England. In 2014, I was the recipient of a Washington State Artist Trust Fellowship Award.
